Galatasaray appoint Roberto Mancini as new coach

Roberto Mancini has been appointed as new coach for Turkey Super Lig football club, Galatasaray.

Mancini have signed a 3 years contract and he will earn 3.5 million euros for the current season and 4.5 million euros more for each of the next two seasons.

Galatasaray travel to Italy to face Juventus in Champions League match tonight.

The management have promised Mancini a generous 300,000 euro bonus if Galatasaray can reach Champions League quarter-finals and to retain Turkey Super Lig honor.

Despite leading Manchester City to Premier League 2011-2012 title, Mancini was sacked in May this year. They have also won English FA Cup 2010-2011.

It is probably the worst start of the season for Galatasaray after they were humiliated by Real Madrid in a 6-1 thrashing score line for the Champions League opening group match.

They have also failed to impress in the Turkey Super Lig after winning just one of their first five league matches.
